The Work of Hands and Heart.

Meet Ms.J

Hi, I’m Jaelin Henderson — though most people just call me Jae, and most kids call me Ms. J or Birdy.
I was born in Baldwin Park, California in 2003, and I’ve spent most of my life chasing two things: laughter and good food.

I grew up between a kitchen and a crowd — my dad graduated from Le Cordon Bleu when I was ten, and my mom’s side of the family is a big, loud, Mexican household where care always starts with a full plate. Those roots made food and family my first languages.

Over the years, I’ve built a life around improv comedy, tabletop storytelling, and cooking — three crafts that all revolve around the same idea: creating a space where people can feel safe, seen, and fed. I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons for twelve years, performing improv for five, and exploring food for about fifteen.

My dream is simple: to keep making things that nourish people — whether that’s a meal, a moment, or a bit of magic around the table. One day I hope to attend culinary school and become a full-time personal chef or nanny — something steady and human, where I can care for a family regularly and grow alongside them.

    Childcare & Family Support

Caring for children is one of the most human things we do — an act of patience, presence, and wonder. Whether it’s an evening out, a recurring schedule, or short-term help, I approach childcare with the same care I bring to every service: grounded, intentional, and imaginative. My goal is to make sure your little ones feel safe, seen, and celebrated — and that you feel at peace knowing they’re in kind, capable hands.

    Services Include:

In-home childcare for toddlers through preteens

Creative play, outdoor exploration, and art-based activities

    Meal prep and bedtime routines

Light housekeeping during naptime or after play

Pet and home care as needed

    Storytelling Experiences

Play is a kind of magic — it connects us, teaches us, and reminds us how to imagine together. Whether it’s a birthday adventure for kids or a long-running tabletop campaign for teens or adults, my work as a Game Master blends storytelling, improv, and care. I create worlds that are safe, funny, heartfelt, and alive — where everyone at the table belongs.

    Professional Game Master Services

For groups who want to play but don’t have time, dont know how, or simply dont want to run the game.

I run custom one-shots and campaigns for Dungeons & Dragons, Kids on Bikes, or other TTRPG systems — tailored to your party’s tone, skill level, and story preferences. From cozy slice-of-life sessions to high-fantasy epics, each session is designed for connection, laughter, and a little catharsis.

Starting at: $25 per Player Character (4-hour session for up to 5 players)

    TTRPG/LARP Parties for Kids

For those looking to bring the magic of adventure to their child’s special day!

I design and run age-appropriate tabletop or live-action quests (LARP-lite) where kids become the heroes of their own story — solving puzzles, battling villains, and building teamwork through play. All quests are customized to your theme, space, and group size, with a focus on imagination, cooperation, and laughter.

These events blend physical activity, puzzles, and creative and narrative problem-solving, making them perfect for birthdays or group workshops.

Starting at: $250 (2-hour quest, includes custom story, props, and setup)
Add-ons: Personalized character sheets, take-home treasure bags, and light snacks available on request
